There are often things that are overlooked on a busy day of yard work, and often those things can wait another week or two without being a huge detriment to the growth of your lawn or the health of your yard overall. However, there are three things (see below!) that you really cannot forget to do when it comes time to do it. Those three things are fertilizing, hardscape cleaning, and tree trimming.
Fertilizing: We all know this is necessary for the growth of your lawn, but to truly have a beautiful lawn you need to regularly apply a good fertilizer. This will almost certainly make your lawn thrive (combined with other things, of course)--just don't forget to do it! Weekly or bi-weekly is best, and make sure to set a reminder if you tend to forget minor jobs like this.
Hardscape Cleaning: To have a nice patio, deck, water feature, or any other hardscape, it needs to be kept clean. A good power wash or even just hosing it down every once in a while will do wonders for the aesthetic appearance of your yard. Don't forget to do this, if you do forget, you will notice quickly because it really does degrade from the appearance of your yard when your hardscape is dirty.
Tree Trimming: Overhanging branches, old dead trees, and overgrown pine trees get in the way, inhibit baby tree growth, and generally make your yard look uncared for. If you need to hire a professional tree trimmer, do it--it's worth it to get rid of entire trees, large branches, or annoying stumps. If you can do it yourself with a chainsaw or other tool, get on it quickly--it does help, we promise.
Now you know! Don't forget these things, and you will quickly notice why the appearance of your yard has been nagging at you.
